Tips to Decrease EMF Exposure

“Our bodies are really electromagnetic machines. We simply can’t move a muscle or produce a thought without an electrical impulse – and wherever there is electricity, a magnetic field is also produced, which is why we link the two together into one word: electromagnetic.”

Ann Louise Gittleman
  • Keep your phone in airplane mode when you’re not using it. This is especially important when sleeping because emf disturbs biorhythms and melatonin production, keeping your body from completing it’s vital repairs when you’re asleep and disrupting circadian rhythm. Your pineal gland (the organ that produces melatonin and other hormones) actually interprets the electrical nature of the EMF radiation as a source of light. You can also get a faraday pouch for devices that will block anything emitting from them. I have tested this particular one with an EMF reader, and it does work, even after 9 months of use.
  • Keep electronics in your bedroom on a power strip that you can easily unplug or switch off when you go to bed.
  • Do not put your phone in your pocket, on your body, or in your bra when it is not in airplane mode. This has been linked to lower sperm counts and increased risk of breast and other cancers.
  • Use a low EMF wired headset or speakerphone when on a phone call and choose wired headphones over wireless. According to the inverse square law of physics, as we double our distance from a source of radiation, we quarter our exposure to it. This means even talking with your phone a foot or two away from you is a big improvement.
  • For home internet, use ethernet cables instead of wifi. Hardwire it like it’s 1998. Lol This is also a huge step from a security standpoint as wifi is easier to hack. Use wired controllers for gaming too. If a device can only run on wifi, replace it. I know some people are very attached to their Fire Sticks, Rokus, smart thermostats and other devices, but this is not worth constantly being bombarded with radiation and there are plenty of other options.
  • If you must use wifi, turn it off at night.
  • Avoid “smart watches” and other wearable “health devices”. If you want to know your stats when you’re exercising, there are cheap ones that show it on the screen instead of broadcasting it to your phone. There are also some devices with the option to turn the bluetooth off. There’s some dystopian monitoring of these happening as well. You can read about that on my telegram channel.
  • Use incandescent bulbs instead of LED or CFL bulbs. They emit mostly yellow light which is less damaging to your circadian cycle, skin, and eyes compared to blue light. Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs (CFL) use high-frequency AC instead of 60 Hertz. This makes the light bulbs more energy-efficient, however they convert the current into DC and then into high-frequency AC. This is done by “chopping up” the sine waves, which causes spikes in dirty electricity.
  • Don’t use microwaves. If someone else is using one, don’t stand near it.
  • Get your bare feet on the ground daily. This floods the body with negative ions (the opposite of what tech does) and discharges energy you have been exposed to. Think of it like when you’re crackling with static electricity and you touch metal and discharge it.
  • Supplement magnesium. While we may have been able to get everything we needed from food at some point in the past, exposure to EMF and blue light (tv, screens, all bulbs except incandescent) causes the body burn through magnesium at an accelerated rate. Unless you live in a forest with no electricity or devices, you should be taking magnesium.
  • You can also use orgonite (a substance which releases negative ions) around areas you are exposed to emf to mitigate it. I have it in my car, under my desk, and under my bed. Some people have reported huge improvements in health after sleeping with a bunch of these under their bed. There are also emf blocking hats and clothing if you are going to be exposed for long periods of time.
  • Children are even more vulnerable to EMF than adults. They have thinner skulls, higher moisture and ionic content, and more sensitive nervous systems. This study found that a child’s head absorption rate could be up to two times that of adults. Shockingly, the absorption of their skull’s bone marrow could be up to 10 times that of adults.  You can download games or videos and then put the device into airplane mode when they’re actually using it. Use wired controllers for video games and avoid other bluetooth and wireless devices when possible.
  • If you need help getting devices in your house hardwired and finding safer options, I offer EMF Reduction Consultations. For a few years I have been avoiding EMF as much as possible and actually found a lot of my sleep disturbances were caused by it. I still use plenty of technology, so I’ve found alternatives and workarounds to enjoy modern conveniences without the unnecessary exposure.
